The Citadel International Church (TCIC) is a bible-believing non-denominational church that exists to bring people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. TCIC carries out a lot of philanthropic and charitable activities with the sole aim of helping humanity and caring for people’s welfare.
Under the direction of the resident pastor in Calgary and the pastorate office in Edmonton, the Grant Writer focuses on two primary areas of value realization for the organization: research grant opportunities and writing compelling grants to secure funding.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Some of the job duties of the Grant Writer are as follows:
• Research and identify grant opportunities to fund existing and new programs in the organization.
• Define and develop funding sources to support planned activities in the organization.
• Prepare proposals and write compelling grants to secure funding for the events and activities of the organization.
• Lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, provincial, and private funding agencies.
• Assemble and send out the organization’s proposals for grants.
• Other duties may be assigned by the pastorate and leaders in the organization.

JOB REQUIREMENT
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
• Bachelor’s degree (in English, Communication, or other relevant field) with at least 2 years of experience as a grant writer for a non-profit organization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a grant writing setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong writing skills.
• Ability to research potential funders thoroughly.
• Ability to create compelling proposals with persuasive language.
• Ability to think strategically when analyzing funding opportunities.
• Ability to develop excellent relationships with funders.
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and submit funding proposals on time.

COMPENSATION
This job is commission-based. The Grant Writer will be paid a certain percentage of the grants successfully funded.
